As a chef, life coach, as well as wife, step mom etc I know how hard it is to find time to put those recipes into the computer. To start with I'd buy another recipe box with tabs, then take a few minutes once or twice a week and grab a short stack of what's in your file box. I'd sort them into categories without going crazy, like Sides, Apps, Salads, Desserts.

Of course you will have to have those sections set up in your new box.

Once everything has a new pretty general home you can take it to the next level.

You can rearrange what is now in new categories alphabetically.

Then you can sort within the general categories to make it even easier to find things by going say to,

hot or cold in each category or cakes, cookies, pies in desserts, or special occassion/family.

Use whatever categories speak to you and the kind of cooking you do.
